What Is It Used For?
Tipping norms differ enormously — around 15 to 20 per cent is customary in the United States, 10 per cent or simply rounding up is common across much of Europe, and in Japan tipping can be considered impolite. This calculator does not judge the rate; it just does the arithmetic and the division quickly, at the table, without anyone needing a pen.
