Working Days Calculator

Count the working days between two dates. Weekends are excluded automatically and you can subtract your own public holidays.

Count only the days that actually count. Weekends are removed for you, and you can paste in your own public holidays.

Highlighted days are treated as non-working.

Use YYYY-MM-DD, one per line. Holidays that fall on a non-working day are not counted twice.

What Is It Used For?

Business deadlines, notice periods and delivery estimates are almost always expressed in working days rather than calendar days. Because public holidays differ by country and even by region, this calculator lets you supply your own list instead of guessing.

  • Working out a delivery or shipping date given in business days.
  • Counting the working days in a month for payroll or capacity planning.
  • Checking a legal or contractual deadline expressed in working days.
  • Planning how much annual leave a trip will actually cost you.
  • Estimating project duration for a team that works a non-standard week.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a working day?

By default, Monday to Friday, excluding any dates you list as holidays. You can change which weekdays count using the day buttons.

Are the start and end dates included?

Yes by default, since business deadlines usually count both endpoints. Untick the box if you only want the days in between.

Why do I have to enter holidays myself?

Public holidays vary by country, region and sometimes by employer. Entering your own list is the only way to get an accurate answer for your situation.

What happens if a holiday falls on a Saturday?

It is only counted once. The day is already excluded as a weekend, so listing it as a holiday does not reduce the total twice.

Can I use it for a four-day or six-day week?

Yes. Click the day buttons to mark exactly which days do not count as working days.
